Clinical Massage Therapy

What is it?

In a Clinical Massage Therapy appointment, my aim is to nurture and support the very best in health and quality of life for you by addressing the physical manifestations of pain directly.

Working with the soft tissues of the body, this form of therapy aims at assessing and treating muscles, joints, and connective tissues. With physical manipulation of these systems, pain and dysfunction decrease and your quality of life has the space and ease in the body to grow.

What to Expect...

Assessment

Notably, a thorough assessment is at the heart of effective treatments. At your first appointment we establish a strong foundation by completing a full assessment. This way we establish together a clear path for your individual needs and goals in your sessions with me. Let’s begin helping you feel progressively better with clear vision and communication on the approaches and methods that work best for you.

Massage

Many of the techniques stem from General Swedish Massage, with light, moderate, to deep pressure, depending on each individual’s needs and responses to treatment. A variety of oils are commonly used for these techniques, though some are with no oil at all. Also, I often use additional treatment modalities such as Cupping, Guasha, and Rhythmic Movements to provide a deeply effective treatment for you.

Homecare

Another important part of these sessions are the tools and knowledge provided to you for continued health at home - including strengthening, stretching, breathwork, relaxation practices, and rhythmic movements to develop optimal muscle balancing, activation, and overall health.

Empowering you with remedial exercises allows you to maintain the benefits of in-clinic sessions between treatments for much longer.

This way, together we make swift work of creating lasting positive changes for you!

Anticipated Results…

After a treatment often we feel lighter, more relaxed and sleepy or refreshed, with less pain and more ease of movement. For those who enjoy deep pressure, you may feel a little sore for a day or two following the massage, almost as though you had a good workout!

There are many benefits to therapeutic massage -  including but certainly not limited to reducing stress and tension, alleviating pain, supporting healthy ranges of motion, stability and flexibility, emotional regulation, immune support, improved cognition and sleep - to name just a few!

All this means having more energy, less pain, and more comfort in the body.

Onward and upward in your health and wellness!
